Dr Anthony Kresevic

Dr Kresevic first worked in Cairns at the Cairns Base Hospital in 1990.  He returned in 1998 and has since been working full time in general practice on the south side of Cairns.  His roots in Cairns go deeper, with his wife’s family history in Cairns extending back 5 generations.

He graduated in medicine and surgery from the University of Adelaide in 1987.   He spent a number of years gaining experience in various Adelaide hospitals.  He also pursued an interest in Orthopaedic Surgery, including a year at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London, UK in 1994. However, he returned to the study of general medical practice and gained Fellowship of the RACGP in 1998.

He has a special interest in Sports Medicine and is immersed in the sporting pursuits of the Cairns community, from junior to elite competitors.  This includes work as Team Doctor for the Northern Pride QRL and Brothers Rugby League teams, Cairns Taipans and Marlins/Dolphins Basketball teams and Saints Swimming Club.

He remains passionate about all facets of family medicine, from birth to death, and provides a wide range of general medical services and experience in a holistic and compassionate manner.

He is dedicated to the education of the next generation of doctors and GPs, and mentors medical students from JCU and GP trainees from TMT.

When he does get some free time he unwinds with his family, friends and pets.

Dr Johannes Haasbroek (Dr Bernard)

 

Dr Bernard completed his medical education in South Africa and moved to Australia in 1996 where he gained experience working in rural communities.

He has been working in private general practice in rural NSW for the past 16 years.

He has an interest in Obstetrics (Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and minor surgery including Vasectomy and neonatal circumcision.

He has settled in Cairns with his family and looks forward to looking after the health needs of patients in our region.

Dr Ruchi Kulshrestha (Dr Ruchi)

 

Dr Ruchi has been working as a GP for the last 8 years.

She completed her undergraduate medical degree in New Delhi, India.

She then traveled to the UK and worked in paediatrics and neonatology for 2 years. She subsequently completed her GP training in Manchester, UK before coming to Australia 3 years ago. She has special interest in paediatrics, women’s health including antenatal care, chronic disease management and mental health. She can also perform Implanon insertions and removals.

She has completed the advance skin cancer medicine certificate in Australia and can perform skin excisions , skin cancer checks, cryotherapy and topical treatment for different skin types of skin cancer.

In her free time, Dr Ruchi enjoys travelling and spending time with her family of 2 young children.

Dr Ruchi Kulshrestha

Dr Ruchi specialises in General family medicine, Woman’s health, Cervical screening, IUD insertions, Chronic disease, Skin cancer checks and excisions, Travel vaccinations, Childhood vaccinations, Mental health, Refugee healthcare, Occupational health care and Employment medicals.

Dr Robert D’Hotman

Dr Robert D’Hotman – Local family doctor now welcoming his patients at Edmonton Family Medical Centre.

Dr D’Hotman is skilled in a wide range of family health services and the surgical field.

Dr D’Hotman qualified as a medical practitioner in Rhodesia in 1979 and then obtained UK recognition in the same year. He then spent two years in the air force service during which time he specialised in aviation medicine. Robert then practiced for 18 years in South Africa expanding his practical capabilities as a General Procedural Practitioner. During this time he worked in a Private Practice, Emergency Medicine, then at a Mission hospital as a teacher in the surgical department.

Although Dr D’Hotman is well skilled in a wide range of family health services, his main interests lie in surgical fields. Dr D’Hotman performs minor surgery and procedural work. He offers vasectomies, definitive in-grown toenails and all the definitive skin cancer surgeries.

He completed the Advanced course in Cosmetic Injecting to compliment his surgical skills and is skilled in cosmetic injecting (Botox, Fillers) and repair of injuries/scars. He completed an Australian Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery certification.

He also has an interest in chronic pain management seeking treatable causes rather than issuing pain killer prescriptions.

He loves adventure and his idea of a relaxing holiday is to either scuba dive or take to the mountain and snow ski all day!

Dr Sune Victor

 

Dr Sune Victor joined the Edmonton Family Medical Centre team in early 2022 after graduating from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2019.

Raised in Adelaide, Dr Victor is currently a Royal Australian College of General Practice Registrar.

She is under the supervision of practice principal, Dr Anthony Kresevic, who has been engaged in the education of younger doctors for many years.

She is particularly interested in paediatric medicine and women’s health and has enjoyed building relationships with new patients and working with women to help them establish their health care goals and identify their needs.

In a very short time, she has become active in the Cairns community and has loved exploring the attractions of Far North Queensland.

Before moving to Cairns, Dr Victor completed hospital rotations at Royal Adelaide Hospital, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital including spending time in their paediatric and gynaecology wings.
